FAQ

Who can participate in WCCB Classes?

Watch City Community Boxing and Fitness classes are for current middle and high school students in Waltham and surrounding communities. Elementary students and adults can attend Nolan Bros Boxing Classes, but they unfortunately cannot attend Watch City Community Boxing and Fitness classes.

How do we sign up?

We try to make signing up as simple as possible. Step 1: Complete the waiver located as a widget at the bottom of this page. Step 2: Register for a WCCB Technique or WCCB Bags class located under the “Schedule and Booking” tab on this web page. That’s it!

What classes are offered and when do they meet?

Currently, we offer classes at 6 pm and 7:15 pm on both Mondays and Wednesdays. We have two class types; WCCB Technique which meets at 6 pm and WCCB Bags which meets at 7:15 pm. The technique class focuses on boxing basics. From footwork to stance to how to punch correctly, this class is all about refining our skill set in the sport. The bags class is a fun and engaging full body workout that has kids hitting the heavy bag and performing various body weight exercises. Both classes are for all ability and experience levels.

What should I bring to class?

Please wear comfortable workout/fitness clothing. If you do not have access to proper clothing, let a member of the staff know as we have some materials that have been donated to the gym. If possible, bring a bottle of water (we have a bubbler at the facility if you don’t have a water bottle).

What are the costs involved?

Watch City Community Boxing and Fitness classes are 100% free for all middle and high school students. WCCB provides hand wraps, gloves, and other boxing materials to all members. Insurance, USA Boxing registration, and all other related fees are completed paid for by the 501(c)3.

Can an adult stay and watch the class?

Though we don’t allow adults to watch or audit a WCCB class, there is always a Nolan Bros Boxing class occuring at the same time as our WCCB classes. Please feel free to register for a class while your child is attending a WCCB, they’re a ton of fun and are a great workout!

Will you be offering more classes?

That’s the goal! As of right now, we’re sticking with 4 classes a week (2 on Mondays, 2 on Wednesdays), but as the program gets bigger, we’d like to expand our offerings. Stay tuned!

What are the expectations for members?

WCCB is all about community, and as such, we have community expectations for participants. All participants are expected to be respectful and courteous to all members and staff at the gym. We have a zero tolerance policy for disrespect, and members who cannot follow those expectations will be asked to leave and not return. Safety is a priority as well. Any unsafe behavior will be addressed immediately, and again, members will be asked to leave if they cannot follow safety expectations. Members of WCCB are expected to be cultural ambassadors to Waltham and surrounding communities. Members are expected to work hard at school, get good grades, be upstanding members of the community, and stay out of trouble. Students who are not upholding the values of WCCB (kindness and community first and foremost) will not be welcome at the gym.

How can I help?

The two biggest ways folks can help are to spread the word or make a tax deductible charitable donation. The more middle and high school students that we can get involved in boxing and fitness, then better! Share it with family, friends, coworkers, schools, sports teams, churches; literally anything you can do to let people know that we’re here. The program is free and we rely heavily on community contributions to keep the program running. If you have the means to donate, rest assured you’d be giving to a fantastic cause and community.

Are donations tax deductible?

Absolutely! Watch City Community Boxing and Fitness is a recognized 501(c)3 non-profit. All donors will receive a thank you letter with tax information from our organization.
