What do I need for my first class?
As you’ve likely seen by now, your first class with us is absolutely free! You’ll need to sign a waiver (or have a parent/guardian sign one if you’re under the age of 18), wear some comfortable athletic clothing, bring a water bottle, as well as hand wraps. We recommend 180″ hand wraps which can be purchased online through a major boxing retailer or in person at NBB (we sell pairs for $5). We have communal gloves available to use, though we strongly advise purchasing your own. We have gloves available to purchase at the front desk for $45.
Do You have covid protocols?
Yes! We require well fitting masks to be worn at all times in the facility. From the moment you walk in the door, throughout your entire workout, to the moment you leave, masks must be worn. If you don’t have a mask or your mask is damaged, we have plenty for members at the front desk. Our water fountain can be used for filling up your bottle, but members cannot drink directly from it. We have numerous HEPA air scrubbers on both floors and have large bay doors and industrial fans to move air in the warmer months. We have physical plastic partitions that you may elect to use to separate you from other members, though all our equipment is spaced a minimum of 6′ apart. We disinfect all heavy bags and rowers between each class in which they are used and have 30 minutes between classes to ensure that proper sanitation may occur.
Do I have to sign up in advance?
Due to the current COVID restrictions, our class numbers are limited, so we do require online registration. Not to worry though, as we’ve made the process as fast and easy as possible! Simply click the “Schedule and Booking” tab at the top of the website to be taken to our registration portal. Click on a class you’d like to attend, pick a date and time, enter your name and email address, and you’re good to go! No pre-payment is necessary, simply reserve your spot and come on by!
Where do I park?
We have a large parking lot located directly in front of our building at 20 Sun Street in Waltham. If for some reason the lot has filled, there is a large amount of on street parking as well on both sides of Sun Street. Rest assured, if you drive to the gym, you’ll find a spot close by!
Do I have to punch anyone or get punched?
Of course not! Though we offer technique classes for those looking to eventually compete in the sport of boxing, all of our other classes are created with the sole purpose of getting you in the best shape of your life.
I’m in terrible shape, is NBB the right gym for me?
Absolutely! Though we motivate members to achieve the absolute most out of every single class, we can modify any exercise to cater directly to your ability level. No matter where your level of fitness starts, we can assure you we can get you in better shape.
